The two filmmakers who grabbed substantial headlines at this year’s Busan International Film Festival were Oh Se-yeon for her project [Fanatic] and Yoon So-hee for the movie [Gleaming Ripples Are Always Shiny], a short travel documentary of an anxious girl’s search for her inner peace.
The two young directors are similar in that they were in charge of the entire movie-making process, from directing to filming and editing. They tell us their original filmmaking formula, fascinating aspects of making a film alone, and why they pursue making a movie themselves despite various challenges.
