Samsung has announced Galaxy S6 during the Mobile World Congress 2015. Its mobile payment system 'Samsung Pay' has also received as much attention as its new smartphone. Samsung indicated it has also jumped into the fintech business. Fintech, or financial technology, has emerged as one of the hottest global issues lately. With the rise of fintech, people can now virtually use financial services without going through financial institutions. As a result, major IT firms like Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom, KT, LG Uplus and Naver are seeking to set up branchless internet banks. Due to a boom in fintech business, expectations that it will revitalize the sluggish economy and controversies over security issues have been raised. We will talk about the potential of Korea's fintech industry and its way forward.

Smartphone-connected virtual reality device

Samsung has unveiled its latest virtual reality device VR2 at the Mobile World Congress 2015. Taiwan's HTC has also challenged the virtual reality device market with its product. Easier-to-use, smartphone-connected head mounted display (HMD)-type virtual reality devices are coming to consumers. By inserting the smartphone to the headset, the smartphone can print out images and voice to create three dimensional, 360-degree virtual reality images. Unveiling of Korea's moon rover

With the Korean government seeking to explore the moon in 2020, a prototype of Korean rover has been unveiled for the first time. The prototype applied various designs to adjust to the environment of moon, where the daily temperature range is nearly 300 degrees celcius, and to be able to work on the rugged surface of the moon. After passing numerous tests, an unmanned launch vehicle will carry the rover to the moon. We will look into the technology of Korean rover and tasks ahead for its actual application.

North Korea's power structure and capricious power rankings

After the enlarged meeting of North Korea's Central Military Commission on February 23, North Korea's military rankings have changed once again. Hwang Byung-seo has been named the country's second most powerful post, or director of the KPA General Political Department, replacing Choe Ryong-hae. There are talks that such a frequent shift in rankings is because North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is afraid of the No. 2 man. We will look into the power structure and rankings in the communist regime which is being reshuffled.
