The key direction of Korea's economic policy in 2015 is structural reforms. The government is banking on reforming the four sectors as announced by Ministry of Strategy and Finance late last year. The plan is to fully reform the labor, education, finance and public sectors. The government believes it is essential to strongly reform each economic sector to revive the country's economy which is facing a possible long-term recession. We will find out why the government has put forward reforms as its policy keyword, and what specific policy directions and measures are needed to successfully implement the policy.

Controlling transparency of windows as you like! 'Smart optical shutters'

Korean researchers have developed 'optical shutter' technology that can rapidly change transparency levels of glass windows in just 0.1 seconds. Under the method, electrochromic materials are attached to the surface of fine particle structures sized 8 nanometers. Then, electricity is applied to change the color. It took minutes for previously commercialized products to change the window's color, but the latest technology just requires 0.1 seconds to change the color. We will look into smart optical shutter technology set to be applied to rear-view mirrors inside vehicles as well as dimmable windows.
