Bargain-hunting frenzy of Black Friday is hitting the world. Originated from the U.S., it is a period from November 28 to the end of December when retailers launch fire sales. Amid an explosive growth in online shopping from U.S. shopping sites, the Chinese-version of Black Friday has also emerged. Meanwhile, Korean firms are also joining the race of cross-border e-commerce, with their online selling of goods to foreign consumers surging. We will visit Korean retailers to find out why consumers are increasingly purchasing goods directly from foreign shopping sites, why Korean firms are launching global e-commerce sites for foreign consumers and what they need to prepare for successful launch of global e-commerce sites.

Electronic nose and tongue: The future of bio sensor technology

Research on sight, hearing and touch of mankind's five senses has made a large progress. But research on smell and taste, seen as more sensitive sectors, remains weak. Meanwhile, Korean researchers have developed sensor system that can sense smell and taste the most like humans. Bioelectronic nose and tongue using human's smell and taste receptors is likely to be applied in infinite ways in the future, such as diagnosing patients' diseases by analyzing odor of their exhaled breath and analyzing density of hormones that can't be tasted by human tongue. We will explore the present and future of biosensor technology.
