The World On arirang

After the Vietnam war, 152 people who were trying to escape through the U.S. embassy had failed and are detained at Vietnam. Among them, three Korean diplomats have been in confinement for five years.

Mr. Lee had rejected America's favor to "get in the helicopter first" to escape with the locals but were detained by the North Vietnamese army and lived behind bars at the infamous prison for 5 years. Captured 5 months before him Mr. Lee and Mr. Ahn had been on a forked road of life and death before they were both released.

Receiving only two meals of cabbage soup given in jail, having lost 30 kg and living in anxiety of when they might be executed, what were these men thinking to make it through?

 Through Korean and Vietnamese actors and the two men's interviews about their life inside jail, we reconstruct their fight to stay alive. In addition, record their life after they were released and draw the portraits of the fathers who beat that era.
