N. Korea planning to change operational plans of frontline military units : KCNA Updated: 2022-06-23 13:28:49 KST

North Korea is reportedly making some changes to its so-called frontline military units, possibly assigning to them its new tactical nuclear weapons and stepping up its military threats against South Korea.
The regime's state-run Korean Central News Agency reports that a military reorganization was discussed Wednesday by leader Kim Jong-un on day two of a meeting of the eighth Central Military Commission of the ruling Workers' Party.
The North Korean report did not give specifics, but a photo showed officials looking at a map of South Korea's east coast, a sign analysts say could mean the North is going to escalate its threats.
Kim Jong-un reportedly emphasized the importance of enhancing the "operational capabilities" of frontline units.
