Hundreds protest against Tunisian president’s constitutional referendum plan Updated: 2022-06-20 05:47:15 KST

Hundreds of people have demonstrated in the Tunisian capital of Tunis against the president's efforts to hold a constitutional referendum.
The second day of protests on Sunday saw demonstrators oppose the referendum called by President Kais Saied.
His political opponents say the measure could lead to Saied clutching onto power in the country.
The weekend protests follow a strike on Thursday against economic reform plans, which led to a near nationwide standstill.
The referendum, planned for July 25th is set to be boycotted by many of Tunisia's political parties.
