South Korean Finance Minister told reporters on Friday that inflation is projected to rise to and stay above five percent for some time, a situation he described as "not easy."
In April, inflation came in at 4.8 percent.
His comment is in line with an earlier assessment from Bank of Korea Governor Rhee Chang-yong.
On Thursday, Governor Rhee said inflation will rise to five percent or higher as soon as this month and could stay at three to four percent through early next year.
