Russia says that around 700 Ukrainian soldiers have surrendered from the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol within the last 24 hours.
Russia's ministry of defense made this statement on Wednesday.
It now means that a total of 9-hundred-59 people from the steelworks have surrendered.
Russia's claim contradicts Ukraine's reported number of around 250.
Ukrainian officials are yet to comment.
The Russian defense ministry says that the last of the Ukrainian forces' leaders remain inside the plant, refusing to give in.
