A South Korean naval unit operating in waters off North East Africa has reported a COVID-19 cluster infection.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed that 27 of the 304 members of the Cheonghae have been infected, after a suspected case was found on Wednesday.
Ten have minor symptoms, including headaches, while the others are showing no symptoms.
To prevent further spread, all members, except for essential troops needed for the operation, will be staying at a local hotel in Oman.
The vessel is currently stationed in the Gulf of Aden.
