Iran ‘will consider’ direct talks with U.S. at nuclear talks in Vienna Updated: 2022-01-25 13:41:07 KST

Iran's foreign minister said Monday that Iran will consider holding direct talks with the U.S. over the 2015 nuclear deal, which the Trump administration pulled out of, if other talks reach a sufficiently advanced stage.
Following those remarks, the U.S. State Department said any such meeting would lead to more efficient communication, which is urgently needed.
They're currently negotiating indirectly at multinational talks in Vienna over reviving the deal, which limits Iran's nuclear program in exchange for lifting international sanctions.
So far, there had been six rounds of talks, involving the UK, France, China, Russia, Germany.
