South Korean striker Hwang Ui-jo on Sunday scored a hat-trick for the first time since joining France's Ligue-1, in Bordeaux's 4-3 home win over Strasbourg.
Hwang, who had not found the back of the net for 42 days in the league before Sunday, now has nine league goals this season.
With 27 career goals in the French League, Hwang also breaks the record for most goals by a South Korean player in France.
The record was previously held by Park Chu-young, who scored 25 league goals for AS Monaco.
