BTS' 'Life Goes On' makes history as first Korean lyrics song to top Billboard Hot 100 Updated: 2020-12-01 13:24:19 KST

The Billboard Hot 100 number one records keep racking up.
BTS' new hit single 'Life Goes On' has soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the group's third chart topper stateside in just three months.
But 'Life Goes On' makes history, as it's also the first Hot 100 number one in the chart's 62-year history sung predominantly in Korean.
"Savage Love" with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, as well as their previous single 'Dynamite' were sung in English.
Psy's 'Gangnam Style', was previously the highest Hot 100 single to be sung predominantly in Korean.
It reached number two in 2012.
As well as topping the Hot 100 chart, 'BE', the latest album by BTS landed at number one on the Billboard 200, becoming the group's fifth album to top Billboard's main album chart.
After its release on November 20th, sales accounted for 242-thousand equivalent album units in the span of just a week.
2020 is certainly a year to remember for BTS, as they also became the first South Korean group to be nominated in the best pop duo/group performance category for the upcoming Grammy Awards.
