U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun described constructive talks with his South Korean counterpart over continuing to advance Seoul-Washington diplomacy on the Korean Peninsula.
Speaking to reporters following his meeting with Lee Do-hoon, South Korea's special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, Beigun also stressed that the two allies remain fully committed to diplomacy as a way to reach an enduring peace on the Peninsula.
He added that Washington and Seoul cannot do this alone, highlighting the need for North Korea's engagement.
