Let's start with Wall Street, where the three main indices were up quite a bit on Monday. Tech shares in particular leading the Nasdaq to an all-time high during the session. What's the story in the global markets?
Data from the U.S. seem to show some strength in the economy there. For one thing, manufacturing activity last month rose to almost 1-and-a-half year high. In Korea, it would seem that contributed to today's stock market gains. What happened on the Kospi and the Kosdaq?
Last month, consumer prices in Korea were up three tenths of a percent compared to a year earlier. That's at least an increase, unlike the past few months, but it's still very much on the low side. What do you make of that figure?
