Trump hails rise in employment rate, calling it a "rocket ship" recovery Updated: 2020-06-06 13:01:45 KST

U.S President Donald Trump touted the surprise rise in the employment rate amid the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests and COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite experts' forecast on the economy, it was reported that the country added a surprising 2.5 million jobs in May.
The U.S. President then pleaded with states to re-open their economies while claiming the recovery is better than a "V" shape labeling it instead as a "rocket ship".
In addition, he mentioned that a strong economy is the best response to racial tensions adding he hopes the late victim of police brutality, George Floyd, is looking down from heaven saying it's a "great thing that's happening for our country."
