Pres. Lee: Bike Industry, a Key Component of Green Growth Updated: 2011-04-16 00:00:00 KST

President Lee Myung-bak said Saturday that the bicycle industry is one of the key components of Korea's green growth efforts.
Speaking at a bicycle festival in Sangju, North Gyeongsang Province, President Lee said some 25 million Koreans, or about half the population, will own a bike by the end of this year as the country will soon be connected by bike trails.
Sangju is located on the Nakdong River, which runs from north to south down to the country's second largest city, Busan.
The bike trail network is a part of the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project, which the Korean leader hopes will boost tourism and stimulate local economies near the rivers.
