6 Killed, 5 Injured in Oman Protest
As political unrest continues to spread throughout the Arab world, in Oman, roughly a thousand protesters took to the streets for a second day in the city of Sohar, calling for political reforms.
A government hospital said on Sunday that six people were killed and five others injured when police fired tear gas and rubber bullets.
Oman's leader Qaboos bin Said who has been in power for 41 years has tried to appease protesters in the past week by raising the minimum wage by more than 40 percent and reshuffling his cabinet.
But protesters are calling for further reforms citing high unemployment and a poor education system.
Meanwhile in Yemen, opposition parties promised to hold anti-government rallies on Tuesday to bring down that country's leader.
