North Korea Now Has 1,000 Missiles Updated: 2010-03-17 00:00:00 KST

Korea's Defense Minister said Wednesday North Korea now has one-thousand missiles of various types.
While attending a forum in Seoul Minister Kim Tae-young said the communist country possesses about one-thousand missiles including intermediate-range ballistic missiles and about thirty to forty kilograms of plutonium.
The Minister also reiterated that the reclusive state is pushing ahead with its program to create highly enriched uranium a common method for making atomic weapons.
The number of missiles in North Korea has increased from two years ago when the ministry estimated the total at around 800.
However it is not yet known if Pyeongyang has the technical capability to create a nuclear warhead.
