In Russia's capital city Moscow a Korean student identified only by his surname Shim was attacked by a masked assailant and is in critical condition at a local hospital.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday afternoon local time when the victim was heading home after parting with friends.
This isn't the first of such incident in southern Moscow where crimes targeted at foreigners have been prevalent including one that left a foreign student dead last week.
Meanwhile a Korean exchange student was also found dead in the Siberian city of Barnaul last month.
Koreans living in Moscow have been warned by the Korean embassy to be aware of such hate crimes.
