South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol met today with the Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the two agreeing to broaden ties between Korea and Qatar on food security, climate change and more.
In their talks on Thursday, President Yoon said Qatar is a central partner for South Korea in the Middle East.
He expressed hope for a successful World Cup in Qatar later this year, and explained Korea's bid to host the World Expo in Busan in 2030.
Sheikh Mohammed, who is also serving as Qatar's top diplomat, praised the contribution that Korean companies have made to Qatar's economic and social development through the building of infrastructure.
