Jeju, south coast and east of Gangwon-do see downpours Updated: 2022-08-17 06:42:30 KST

Good morning. The weather front continues to drop heavy rain on the south coast and Jeju. Jeju is seeing 40 millimeters an hour with heavy rain alerts issued for most parts of the island.
The east of Gangwon-do Province is also forecast to see heavy rain, expect to see more than 120 millimeters of downpours, inland regions could see passing rain during the day.
Temperature-wise, tropical nights disappeared in most regions except for Jeju. In fact, the resort Island had the hottest overnight temperatures on Monday since 1923, reaching 30.5 degrees Celsius even with the rain, and morning temperatures are already in the upper twenties.
There's late summer heat for most regions this afternoon, topping out at around 30 degrees Celsius.
There's a break from the rain tomorrow but it returns on Friday, with rain dropping from northern parts of the country and spreading nationwide on Saturday.
