S. Korea adds 55,292 new COVID-19 infections Mon.; begins Evusheld rollout Updated: 2022-08-08 17:42:03 KST

South Korea's new cases of COVID-19 today came to 55,292 the fewest daily cases in a week.
There were 29 deaths.
The country has now started administering the COVID-19 treatment Evusheld, which can prevent severe illness in people at high risk.
It offers protection for up to six months for those who cannot get vaccinated due to specific health conditions.
To get Evusheld, you must be at least 12 years old, weigh at least 40 kilograms and cannot have been infected or knowingly exposed to the virus within the last week.
