S. Korea to work closely with UN World Food Programme to address N. Korea's food shortage Updated: 2022-07-14 13:46:23 KST

Unification Minister Kwon Young-se has pledged that South Korea will continue working to provide North Korea with food assistance regardless of the political and military climate on the Korean Peninsula.
He was speaking this morning in Seoul with the executive director of the United Nations World Food Programme, David Beasley.
Minister Kwon thanked the WFP for its efforts so far.
Beasley highlighted North Korea's fertilizer shortage as a key issue and said he hopes the COVID-19 situation can improve and that sanctions on the regime can be eased so that WFP projects in North Korea, currently suspended, can resume
