UK's Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced his resignation as leader of the Conservative Party.
His announcement on Thursday comes following a wave of resignations from government ministers that has nearly paralyzed the UK.
Johnson addressed the public, saying he is sad to leave his post.
"To you, the British public: I know that there will be many people who are relieved and perhaps, quite a few will also be disappointed. And I want you to know how sad I am to be giving up the best job in the world."
Johnson was criticized for a number of issues, including his handling of Brexit, "Partygate" and the resignation of an official, who was recently accused of groping two men.
He says he will continue serving as prime minister until a new leader is selected.
