The intense heat wave is continuing to grip South Korea. Almost the entire country is currently under heatwave alerts. Although temperatures will drop a tad tomorrow, the capital region will still be hot with highs of 32 degrees Celsius. With the humid air, conditions will feel hotter than the actual readings. According to Korea s health ministry, the number of people with heat-related illnesses has nearly tripled compared to last year. Please take extra precautions by drinking plenty of water and staying indoors.
With the warm temperatures, unstable atmospheric conditions continue. This will produce on-and-off showers for inland regions tomorrow. Expect about 5 to 40 millimeters of rainfall coming and going. On Thursday, a monsoonal weather system will enter the country again, causing heavy downpours nationwide.
The capital region and Chuncheon will see rain for the morning hours. Lows in Seoul will start off at 25 degrees.
Showers will become more widepsread by the daytime. Gwangju will get up to 34 degrees. Chuncheon 31. Gyeongju 32 degrees.
The capital region will be under cloudy skies this weekend, with highs hovering 31 degrees.
