Marking 6 decades of friendly ties, Seoul's top diplomat and his Mexican counterpart signed an MOU on development bilateral cooperation.
Park Jin called Mexico South Korea's "number one trading partner" in Latin America and stressed the country is becoming increasingly important as a base for Korean companies to invest and produce in the region.
"We look forward to seeking strategic cooperation between the two countries for mutual prosperity for the next 60 years in areas that have recently gained importance, such as economic security, supply chains, aerospace, and healthcare."

The minister voiced hopes of deepening bilateral ties through diplomatic events, such as plans to participate as a guest country at Mexico's Festival Internacional Cervantino this October, the largest arts festival in Latin America.
Mexico is South Korea's first strategic partner among Latin American countries.
