Pope Francis has expressed his condolences over the Texas shooting , saying he was heartbroken by what happened.
He sent his prayers to the victims and their families, and called for stronger commitment and an end to what he called an "indiscriminate trafficking of weapons", so that such tragedies can never happen again.
Global leaders including those from France, Germany, New Zealand, and Ukraine, also sent their condolences, and called for action.
