Now this is according to President Yoon Suk-yeol earlier on this Tuesday as he opened the 28th World Gas Conference in the nation's southeastern city of Daegu.
Noting the importance of natural gas in meeting global energy demands and its benefits for greenhouse gas reduction President Yoon called for an innovative sustainable approach to easing carbon emissions and transitioning to hydrogen industries.
Yoon came into office earlier this month on a pledge to scrap his predecessor's nuclear phase-out policy.
Meanwhile some 20-thousand industry leaders and policymakers from 80 countries are attending the world's largest triennial global gas event this year.
