President Yoon is saying it's now up to North Korea to approach South Korea if it wants dialogue the ball, he said, is now in their court.
In an exclusive interview with CNN that aired on Monday, Yoon also emphasized tougher stance on Kim Jong-un regime saying conciliatory measures to "temporarily" stop the North's provocations in the past five years have not worked.
Still, he said, the goal is to prosper together.
Also, in terms of the South Korea-U.S. alliance, Yoon said it's in the national interest to join the IPEF and he's also considering on joining several working groups of the Quad.
The President said further that he's not concerned about China's reaction, and that the alliance in economy and technology does not mean South Korea considers economic cooperation with China "unimportant."
