U.S. President Joe Biden landed in South Korea (less than an hour ago) on the first leg of his 5 day trip to Seoul and Tokyo.
Like we've heard in our previous reports, Biden's visit marks the first since he took office, and it comes only 10 days after President Yoon Suk-yeol was sworn in.
After arriving earlier, Biden headed straight to a Samsung chip factory in Pyeongtaek, where they were welcomed by Samsung Electronic's Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong.
The two leaders and Lee will deliver a short speech in the next few minutes, and we give you a live coverage of the scene with simultaneous translation in English.
It looks like the Presidents arrived at the podium, let's take a listen.
As we wait, let me give you a recap of what we can expect from President Biden's visit.
The two leaders will meet again Saturday for their first summit, which will be held first in a small group and then in an expanded format, to discuss the full range of security and economic challenges facing the allies and the region.
Top on the agenda will be the growing threat of North Korea's nuclear and missile programs, and the two sides are expected to discuss ways to bolster their combined defense and deterrence.
Also during their summit, Yoon is expected to announce South Korea's participation in the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework, an initiative proposed by Biden to ensure secure and resilient supply chains, set the rules of the digital economy, and invest in clean, modern and high-standards infrastructure.
After which, the two will attend a banquet attended by key business leaders, including Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun and LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, at the National Museum of Korea.
And On Sunday, Biden will depart for Japan, where he will officially hold a virtual summit of the I-PEF.
Now that wraps up our live coverage of President Yoon Suk-yeol and U.S. President Joe Biden's speeches at the Samsung Electronics chip factory in Pyeongtaek. We will delve deeper into this shortly with our panel of experts.
