A plenary session at the National Assembly at 4 P.M. on this Friday will decide the fate of President Yoon Suk-yeol's pick for the post of Prime Minister.
The confirmation vote on NOMINEE Han Duk-soo is expected to largely depend on the main opposition Democratic Party which holds a 167-seat majority in the 300-seat parliament.
Han previously served as Prime Minister under the Roh Moo-hyun administration and worked 40 years as a civil servant at various economic agencies.
He also served as ambassador to the United States.
The Prime Minister's office is the only Cabinet position that needs the greenlight from parliament.
