Finland, having announced its intention to join the NATO alliance, has angered its neighbor, Russia.
Finland is expected to apply to join NATO in the coming days, and will likely get swift approval.
Finland's President, Sauli Niinisto spoke on the phone Saturday with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, according to the Kremlin, told the Finnish leader that joining NATO would be an error and would harm bilateral relations.
The same day, Russia cut off electricity supplies to Finland, though Finnish officials reportedly shrugged off the move, Russia accounting for only 10 percent of Finland's electricity consumption.
Meanwhile, the G7 countries said Saturday that they're going to provide more aid to Ukraine and will never recognize any territorial gains Russia makes through its war.
