U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken says Russia should cease military build-up along the border with Ukraine citing security threats to the international community.
His comments came during a phone call on Wednesday with China's Foreign Minister as part of efforts to ease tensions between Ukraine and Russia.
But, Wang Yi said in response that Russia's security must be guaranteed first -- implying that NATO should comply with Moscow's demand that it doesn't expand into the East and that bans Ukraine from joining its alliance.
Beijing's top diplomat also called on Washington to solve Russia's (quote) "reasonable security concerns" -- similar to the remarks it made regarding North Korea's latest missile tests.
