South Korea's National Security Council has expressed strong regret over North Korea's missile launch.
In an emergency meeting Thursday morning,.. the NSC members reviewed the security situation, saying the missile launch goes against the demands of South Korea and the international community for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
The NSC called on North Korea to respond to calls for dialogue, saying that tensions on the Peninsula must not be raised further.
The members said they will ensure close coordination between South Korea and the U.S. to monitor the North and analyze the latest launch as well as review necessary response measures.
