Goldman Sachs slashes U.S. GDP growth forecast for 2022 to 3.8% Updated: 2021-12-06 16:10:30 KST

Goldman Sachs has slashed its U.S. economic growth forecast for next year due to concerns over the Omicron variant.
In a weekend report, Goldman Sachs economist Joseph Briggs said that the firm expects U.S. gross domestic product to grow 3.8 percent in 2022, down from its initial 4.2 percent forecast.
He said the new variant could slow economic growth, but that it would exert only a "modest" drag.
The U.S. investment bank also believes that worker and supply shortages in the country could be made worse by the spread of the virus.
