U.S. keeps 12 countries, including S. Korea on currency monitoring list Updated: 2021-12-04 15:40:56 KST

The U.S. Treasury Department has kept South Korea and 11 other countries on its monitoring list for currency practices.
Also included in the report released Friday were China, Japan, and Germany.
The department has revised the criteria for putting countries on the watch list.
They include a trade surplus of over 15-billion U.S. dollars with the U.S., a current account surplus of more than 3 percent of GDP, and intervention in foreign currency markets in at least eight out of 12 months.
South Korea was put on the list for trade surplus and current account surplus.
None of those countries on the list were labeled as currency manipulators.
