The city of Washington D.C. will be lifting its indoor mask mandate for public spaces starting next week.
This comes as many U.S. states are moving towards living with COVID-19.
Although the CDC has said that the D.C. is in a phase of "substantial" transmission, the city's mayor Muriel Bowser announced that the mask mandate will end on November 22nd.
But, masks will still be required on public transit, within schools and government facilities.
Meanwhile, New York City will once again welcome thousands of people to Times Square for the famous New Year's Eve ball drop tradition this year, but only to those who are fully vaccinated.
