The U.S. Defense department continues to work closely with South Korea to ensure complementary military capabilities.
That's coming from the Pentagon's press secretary during a press briefing on Monday,… after being asked to comment on Seoul's successful test fire of SLBMs.
John Kirby emphasized, America will keep military capabilities ready and prepared in a manner commensurate with the continued threats on the Peninsula.
On whether the test fire will help deter North Korean provocation, he stressed the Seoul-Washington alliance itself would be an "appropriate deterrent capability".
The official reiterated the importance of intergrated deterrence and added "there's no stronger ally than South Korea".
