North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has paid his respects to Chinese soldiers who died during the Korean War to mark the anniversary of China's participation in the conflict.
The North's Korea Central News Agency reported on Thursday that Kim visited "the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers in Hoechang Country, South Pyongan Province.
That's where the Chinese military headquarters was located during the war.
The state-run news agency noted that Kim lauded the soldiers' sacrifice as a "historic contribution to the great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War."
On the same day, Kim also sent a floral basket to the Friendship Tower in Pyeongyang.
It's a monument symbolizing the friendship between China and North Korea.
