In a first for a South Korean company, the brand value of Samsung Electronics has risen to fifth highest in the world.
According to marketing consultants Interbrand in their top 100 global brands list, Samsung's brand has a value of sixty-two.three billion U.S. dollars.
Twenty years ago, when Interbrand first published the list, Samsung was at 43rd place, but its value since then has increased 12 fold.
The top four spots were held by American tech giants Apple topping the list, followed by Amazon, Microsoft and Google.
Meanwhile, the brand value of Hyundai Motor was fifth highest among the world's automakers, largely thanks to its aggressive investment in future mobility, like self-driving cars.
