S. Korea's unveils locally developed radar for jet fighters Updated: 2020-08-07 17:03:42 KST

South Korea has rolled out the first production prototype of an advanced radar system for its fighter jets the Active Electronically Scanned Array radar.
The achievement comes four years after the Agency for Defense Development embarked on the creation of an indigenous AESA set with Hanwha Systems.
The ADD says the advanced radar can identify objects at multiple angles, and can simultaneously detect up to 10 objects from 50 to 60 miles away.
It will be installed on the prototype KF-X fighter jets next year for ground and air trials.
