The Dow Jones Industrial Average picked up 164 points and the S&P 500 went up point-3 percent to 33-06, near its intraday peak.
The NASDAQ added about the same percentage amount to 10-thousand 941, also near its highs of the session.
Oil prices were up on Tuesday, as traders awaited data on U.S. crude inventories.
Brent crude was up half a percent while WTI surged over one-percent to 41-dollars 54-cents a barrel.
And the price of coin hit 2-thousand dollars an ounce a milestone that caps a record-breaking rally, in the latest surge in a commodity seen as a safe refuge amid periods of economic uncertainty.
