Downpours to continue in central regions... 500mm in store until tomorrow Updated: 2020-08-04 17:04:55 KST

Time now to get a check on the weather.
Let's turn to our Lee Seung-min at the Weather Center.
Seung-min, downpours of more than 500 millimeters in the central region are in store by tomorrow. Where are we seeing the most rain at the moment?

Well, Conn-young. If you take a look at the radar, long, narrow strips of rain clouds are stretching from east to west and are still on the move. The rain has temporarily stopped in the capital but we still have to be prepared for more downpours. Heavy rain warnings have been issued for Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon-do and Chungcheong-do provinces.

From now until tomorrow, we’ll see up to 500 millimeters in parts of Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon-do and Chungcheong-do provinces. The rest of the central regions will see up to 150 millimeters.

Typhoon Hagupit made landfall in China this morning and is set to fade away soon. But it has created some significant water vapor that is moving toward the Korean peninsula, adding to the size of the rain clouds.

For tomorrow morning, Seoul will begin the day at 24 degrees Celsius. Daejeon, Daegu and Busan at 25 degrees.

Daytime highs will reach 28 degrees in the capital.

Meanwhile, North Korea has also been hit by heavy rain. People should be careful near rivers in the north of Gyeonggi-do province, like the Imjin and Hantan rivers.

I'll leave you with the weather conditions around the world.
