N. Korea discusses munitions production, strengthening war deterrent Updated: 2020-07-19 14:34:54 KST

North Korea's ruling party discussed munitions production and strengthening the regime's war deterrent during a Central Military Commission meeting on Saturday.
Major munition production plans were approved during the meeting which was held to make preparations in the event of military action due to ongoing tensions on the Peninsula.
Pyeongyang's state-run Korean Central News Agency reported that its leader Kim Jong-un presided over the session.
The report had a somewhat softer rhetoric compared to that of the previous meeting in May, which said that the regime was to bolster its "nuclear war deterrent."
