South Korea says it would consider helping North Korea fight off COVID-19, if it receives an official request from any organization.
This is according to the deputy spokesperson for Seoul's unification ministry on Friday.
She said Seoul is closely monitoring the situation in Pyeongyang, by sharing information with international organizations.
She added that Seoul's basic stance is that inter-Korean cooperation is needed to cope with the epidemic, and the government will consult with any organization that officially asks for Seoul's support to assist Pyeongyang.
However, the deputy spokesperson said that no such requests have yet been made.
