The U.S. has deployed a state-of-the-art reconnaissance drone to the Asia-Pacific region in an apparent move to strengthen monitoring of North Korea and China.
It will be used to track North Korea's illegal ship-to-ship transfers as well as movements of China's naval ships in the South China Sea.
According to the U.S. Navy's Seventh Fleet, one of its two MQ-4C Triton UAVs arrived at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam on Sunday.
The Triton is capable of carrying out surveillance missions for more than 24 hours at a time, even in unfavorable weather conditions.
