With official local election campaigning underway the two main parties of South Korea are stepping up their efforts to convince potential voters.
For this second day the leadership of the People Power Party chose Gyeonggi-do Province as an area where it wanted to show support for its candidates.
The Province has more than 350 posts up for grabs, including the Gubernatorial race.
"Gyeonggi-do Province is this election's biggest battleground. Winning the province will mean victory overall, and that will really complete the change in government."
His remarks come as the last governor is former DP Presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung.
During the presidential election, Lee won 5-percent more votes in the province.
The party pledged to tackle the heated real estate market in the capital region.
In the meantime, PPP chairman Lee Jun-seok joined the rest of the leadership later in the day as his first schedule of the day was in Gwangju.
He actually fixed a party banner that had become damaged.
While the city is traditionally a liberal stronghold, Lee said the fact that he himself fixed the banner shows that the PPP won't be giving up on the region.
The Democratic Party of Korea, on the other hand, chose the Chungcheong-do provinces for Friday.
Located in the center of South Korea, it's historically known as a swing region.
Along with 300 local seats, it also has two governor seats and two mayors for cities of Sejong and Daejeon up for grabs
"Our party laid the foundations for balanced growth by starting it in the Chungcheong-do region. It was started by President Roh and succeeded by President Moon; we won't stop here."
The DP won all four of them during the last local elections but during the presidential election in March the DP lost by a large margin.
Yun added that the party will work to amend the Constitution to recognize the City of Sejong as the nation's official administrative capital.
In addition, the DP made clear that it will push forward with placing the country's new aerospace agency in the City of Daejeon.
This campaign period will be extra busy for the next couple days.
With the South Korea-U.S. summit taking place in Seoul the PPP will be looking to appeal to voters by highlighting the positive relationship between President Yoon and President Biden, while the DP will be stressing how it will keep Yoon's party in check.
