An explosion at an oil refinery in the southeast city of Ulsan has left nine injured and one dead.
S-Oil Corp's refinery, the third largest in the country, is still on fire following the explosion on Thursday evening.
Authorities have called in support from nearby fire stations while mobilizing nearly 60 firetrucks to put out the fire.
They said the explosion appears to have occurred during the testing of the facility's alkylation processing equipment.
Deputy Prime Minister Choo Kyung-ho urged the safety of firefighters while asking authorities to examine any possible danger to nearby residents.
