Taliban's acting FM calls for international donors to restart aid to Afghanistan

Afghanistan's acting foreign minister is calling for international donors to restart aid, as the new Taliban government seeks to shore up the finances of a country that's massively reliant on outside assistance.
Speaking at a news conference in Kabul on Tuesday, the minister said the Taliban want the international community to stop putting pressure on the Afghan people, adding they should take the path of diplomacy and economic cooperation.
He also called for more aid from the World Bank and the Islamic Development Bank.
This comes as the Taliban's return to power prompted most international donors to cut off aid.
That includes the U.S., which froze Afghanistan's dollar-denominated bank deposits, which make up the majority of the central bank's reserves.
